Meet Nicole

200 years of New Mexico, one neighbor at a time.

Nicole’s family roots in New Mexico run back 200 years. She built her career, raised her kids, and rooted her public service right here in District 31. Nicole has worked as a leader in Healthcare Administration for over 26 years. She is former PTA President of Jackson Middle School, Nicole spent years inside the system she now works to improve. Her daughter Kennedy is a proud UNM graduate that serves her community, and her son is a recent 2026 La Cueva honor’s society graduate on his way to Arizona State University.

In 2015, her oldest son Jaydon was tragically killed in a senseless act of violence. From the worst day a mother can imagine, she chose to build something, co-founding a victims' advocacy organization that successfully lobbied New Mexico for stronger laws against violent crime.

That work brought her to the State House. Elected in 2024 to bring a fresh, practical voice to Santa Fe, Nicole Chavez has drawn on real-world experience; not politics to deliver results for New Mexico families. In her first term, Nicole championed public safety, quality education, economic opportunity for working families, and Medical Malpractice reform to expand access to healthcare. By building bipartisan relationships, listening to constituents, and advocating for the priorities of District 31, she ensured her community had a strong voice in the Legislature. Nicole understands that meaningful progress takes persistence. She remains committed to advancing safer communities, stronger schools, expanded economic opportunity, and greater access to quality healthcare for New Mexico families.

Now, Nicole is seeking re-election to continue delivering results and provide the Northeast Heights with the responsive, effective leadership it deserves.

Priorities

What's next.

01

Public
Safety

Tougher penalties for repeat offenders. Real accountability for violent juveniles. An end to the catch-and-release policies that have left Albuquerque families exposed.

02

Border
Security

Secure the border, end New Mexico's sanctuary status, and shut down the flow of fentanyl, migrant violence, and human trafficking into our communities.

03

Healthcare
Access

Lower malpractice premiums so doctors can afford to practice in New Mexico. Raise Medicaid reimbursements. Stop the exodus of providers to neighboring states.

04

Economy
& Jobs

Cut the red tape strangling small business. Fix the conditions driving employers out. Keep our graduates in New Mexico instead of watching them leave the state.

05

2nd
Amendment

Protect the constitutional rights of responsible, law-abiding gun owners — while keeping firearms out of the hands of criminals. Real solutions, not symbolic policies.

06

Education
& Choice

Trust our teachers. Give parents a real say in their kids' classrooms. Let families choose the right school for their child — not be locked in by their ZIP code.
